New “darker" design for IPSA Network

Hi, everyone!

Long time no update from me, actually the old template looks so boring to me and that’s why i don’t have any mood to post new updates in IPSA Network. Today i had some free time, open up firefox, login to blogger.com, launch Photoshop etc etc and my brain starts generating ideas on designing the news looks for IPSA Network.

The first things is color scheme. I’ve been wondering what is the suitable color for my next blog design. After experimenting for few hours, I kind of fancy darker looks. Recently, i also redesign my two other blogs, for example JomPHP in dark color. The original template is dark grey, but that color looks so ugly then i change it to my interest.

What’s cool about this template is the framework is good and well arranged. The content space is wide and also there are plenty widget-enable area. To make it looks nicer, i coded the wrapper to become opacity. Wow, transparency rocks! I think this galaxy background is pretty that’s why i choose it. Overall, i think this template is cool, because it was designed by me. Hehe.

After a year become a blogger, I learned a lot of things. A lot of things have been optimized by me, for example this template loads very fast, even on slow connection. This template also search engine friendly, and expect more traffics coming soon. The design is simple and to me, it’s very professional looks. This template looks more of a tech blog rather than pharmacy blog.  I don’t know how others are thinking on my decision to change the template, so if u have any comments, just drop some!

More fancy stuff coming soon. Need to design a cool header first, and later put some mind-blowing apps n widgets.

Useful internet tips for students and lecturers

Here are some internet tips that i think might be useful for both students and lecturers. It's very simple (just manipulating Google.com) but somehow the fact is that very few people know about it. That's why i write up this guide to share with all of you.

Sharing is caring, right? :D

#1. Use google as dictionary to define words

Type define:word to find its definition and brief explanation using Google search engine.

Example: define:action potential (please refer picture)












#2. Use google to find notes in ppt (powerpoint) doc (word) dan pdf format

Type [note title] filetype: [ppt,doc,pdf,docx,pptx]

Example: Type bacteria structure filetype:ppt to find bacteria structure notes in powerpoint slides format.












#3. Use google to find notes or interactive media in swf (flash) format.

So bored and tired of reading notes with lots of text? How about finding some interactive learning media with animation and sound?

Example : type gram staining filetype:swf to find flash animation or tutorial or diagrams about gram staining.

My last words is; study hard coz pharmacy course ain't easy,but be smart and creative at all times too. ;)

From MPS: 10 habits of successful people

I just checked my inbox and realised that MPS has sent me an email. As usual the email contains some informations, advertisements etc but this time they also include some good motivations tips. I think it would be great if i share with all IPSA members, who knows it might be an interesting reads by the way. ;)

10 habits of successful people:

1. They look for and find opportunities where others see nothing.

2. They find a lesson while others only see a problem.

3. They are solution focused.

4. They consciously and methodically create their own success, while others hope success will find them.

5. They are fearful like everyone else, but they are not controlled or limited by fear.

6. They ask the right questions - the ones, which put them in a productive, creative, positive mindset and emotional state.

7. They rarely complain (waste of energy). All complaining does is put the complainer in a negative and unproductive state.

8. They don’t blame (what’s the point?). They take complete responsibility for their actions and outcomes (or lack thereof).

9. While they are not necessarily more talented than the majority, they always find a way to maximise their potential. They get more out of themselves. They use what they have more effectively.

10. They are busy, productive and proactive. While most are laying on the couch, planning, over-thinking, sitting on their hands and generally going around in circles, they are out there getting the job done.

Sometimes it's good to read the emails from MPS Bulletin, don't think it's just a spam after all...:)

New Semester, New Resolution, New Blog :)

First of all, we would like to say; welcome to all of juniors! We hope you enjoy the experience as a pharmacy student at Island College of Technology (ICT). We also hope that all of us can establish a very good network among us.

About Us

Island College of Technology Pharmacy Student Association (IPSA) was formed officially on the 27th of December 2007.

It had its first Annual General Meeting at BK G on the same day. Although the founding of IPSA involves every single of 2006/07 and 2007/08 batch, he latter have contributed majorly in its establishment. IPSA Patron is Dr Norhayati and the Adviser is Dr Chua. The first President and only president so far is Muhammad Nooradely.
